UBS tops the polls for equity research & sales in Asia and Australia, |

Asiamoney is pleased to announce the winners of its 17 th annual Brokers Poll. More than 1,600 investors from approximately 1,000 different institutions contributed, with an estimated total of US$1.12 trillion in Asian equity funds under management. Hedge fund participation was the strongest it has ever been, with 282 different funds amongst the respondents. UBS leads the overall combined research and sales category in Asia (ex-Australia & Japan ) for the second consecutive year. CLSA, having withdrawn from the 2005 poll, makes a strong return in second place and JPMorgan continues its steady climb, moving up another notch to third. Goldman Sachs and Citigroup both jump into the top five, taking fourth and fifth places respectively. For the first time, overall combined research and sales rankings have been calculated for Australia and Japan . UBS takes the top spot in Australia , followed closely by Macquarie, voted Australia 's best local brokerage, in second and Deutsche Bank in third. In Japan , local brokerage winner Nomura has a strong lead ahead of Daiwa, while UBS is hot on their heels in third place |
